Hot weather is set to return by midweek as rain chance trend lower the next couple days. Most of southeast Georgia and the Lowcountry will stay dry on Tuesday and Wednesday as rain chances will dip to 20%. Only isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible.

A couple coastal showers may start the day on Tuesday. Here's a look at Futurecast Tuesday afternoon as the sea breeze may kick off a shower or two, but no organized rains are expected. The threat of a spotty shower should exit by early Tuesday evening.

Overall, rain chances remain low through at least Wednesday. Thursday into Friday showers and thunderstorms will become more scattered across the area.

The lower rain chances Wednesday and Thursday will allow temperatures to jump to the low to mid 90s. Friday should also see highs in the 90s before thunderstorms arrive.

Friday and Saturday could potentially bring 1"-2"+ of rain to parts of southeast Georgia and the Lowcountry. A cold front will slowly push into the area on Saturday. Here's the WPC surface forecast map. If the front is faster and clears our area, rain chances will end on Saturday.

If the front moves through slower or stalls near or south of our area, expect rain chances to continue into Sunday(and possibly Monday). Any outdoor plans Friday-Sunday should have a plan 'B' ready to go as rain may interfere.

Finally, the first named tropical system of the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season formed over the weekend. Low pressure became organized after it departed Florida and strengthened into Alex in the southwest Atlantic Ocean. The storm is now post-tropical and no longer named. The next named storm will be Bonnie.
